What settings should I have if I connect via network location/WebDAV (enterprise only)?

Set up a network location in My Network Places/Computer/Finder to access your storage space. The network location is placed as a folder on your computer. You can save your files as usual, restore by "drag & drop" and work in files against your new folder.

Some applications may have problems with this solution as the application thinks it is communicating with a sharepoint solution. We therefore recommend using the Storegate Cloud Folder application in the first instance.
In the instructions below replace the username with your username.

For Windows 8 and Windows 10

  1. Open Windows Explorer and select "This computer".
  2. Select "Computer".
  3. Click "Connect network device".
  4. Select your desired drive letter, and type https://webdav1.storegate.com/användarnamn as "Folder".
  5. Check both "Reconnect at login" and "Connect with other credentials".
  6. Click on "Finish"
  7. Enter your username and password.
  8. Click on "OK".

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

  1. Click on Start
  2. Select "Computer".
  3. Click "Connect network device".
  4. Click on "Connect to a website that you can use to store documents and images".
  5. Type in https://webdav1.storegate.com/användarnamn under "Internet or network address".
  6. Enter your username and password.
  7. Name the network location.
  8. Click "Finish".

For Windows XP

  1. Click on Start
  2. Select "This computer" and then "My Network Places".
  3. Click on "Add a network location" in the menu on the left.
  4. Type https://webdav1.storegate.com/användarnamn under "Internet or network addresses".
  5. Enter your username and password.
  6. Name the network location.
  7. Click "Finish".

For Mac OS X

  1. In the Finder, select "Go" and then "Connect to server".
  2. Type in https://webdav1.storegate.com/under"Server address".
  3. The next box that comes up, type your Storegate username and password
  4. Click the plus sign to add the connection to "Frequently used servers".
  5. Click Connect. Enter your username and password.

After this, you have to make sure that the connection always starts with the computer:

Open System Preferences and go to Users & Groups and then Startup Items

Press the plus icon and scroll down to the distributed webdav directory (1 in the picture). Then select the webdav directory (2 on the picture) and press add (3 on the picture)

Now the connection will be present when you restart your computer.


For Linux (GNOME)

  1. Start the File browser (Locations/Computer).
  2. If the address line where you can enter a location is not displayed, this is done by selecting Go/Location.
  3. In the address line, type davs://webdav1.storegate.com/username
  4. Confirm with your username and password.
